Primitive Reflex Exploration Session

What if your child isn’t being “difficult” but they’re simply trying to tell you something

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Big emotional meltdowns

  • Constant movement

  • Difficulty sitting still

  • Bedtime feels impossible

  • Struggles with concentration

  • W sitting or toe walking

  • Sensitive to noise, clothing or busy environments

  • Clumsy or always bumping into things

  • Big reactions that seem to come from nowhere

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering: “Why does everything seem so much harder for my child?” You’re not alone and your child isn’t broken.

Behaviour is communication.

As parents, we’re often given strategies to manage behaviour, think sticker charts, reward systems or consequences but what if behaviour isn’t actually the problem? What if it’s your child’s nervous system asking for support?

Primitive reflexes are one piece of the nervous system puzzle that many parents have never heard about. When these early survival reflexes remain active, they can influence emotional regulation, movement, concentration, confidence, learning and the way children experience the world around them. Understanding them can completely change the way you see your child.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a diagnosis?

No. Primitive Reflex Explorations are designed to help build understanding, not labels.

My child is shy. Will that be a problem?

Not at all. Children are welcome to take their time. We’ll work at your child’s pace. There is not a lot of hands on physical touch and we can role model everything on you first so you’re child care see what’s happening.

Do all children with these behaviours have retained primitive reflexes?

No. Primitive reflexes are simply one piece of a much bigger picture. These sessions help us determine whether they may be contributing to what you’re seeing.

What ages do you work with?

Children of all ages are welcome.

Book a Primitive Reflex Exploration

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to watch the workshop.

I hope it helped you better understand your child’s nervous system and gave you some reassurance that behaviour is often communication, not something that’s “wrong” with your child.

If you’re ready to explore things a little further, the next step is booking a Primitive Reflex Exploration Session.

These relaxed, 30 minute sessions are held at a local park where your child can play, settle in and feel comfortable while we gently explore their primitive reflexes together.

During your session we will:

  • Complete a simple primitive reflex exploration

  • Talk through what I’m noticing

  • Answer your questions

  • Discuss whether any further support may be helpful

This is not a treatment session. It’s simply an opportunity to better understand your child and whether retained primitive reflexes may be contributing to what you’re seeing at home.

Investment: $20 per person

If further support is recommended, your $20 exploration fee will be credited towards your child’s first Primitive Reflex Support Session.

Some families leave simply with reassurance. Others discover a pathway for further support. Either outcome is a positive one.
